  I only gave them five stars because there weren’t anymore!!!! Not enough can be said about EVERYONE at SAMC!!!! They literally touch my heart and soul, unlike any other program I’ve been to. The respect I get is absolutely incredible and if it wasn’t for them I probably wouldn’t be breathing right now. For this I’ll be forever grateful…the words thank you just don’t seem to be enough. Matt is the most incredible counselor I’ve ever had, no lie!!!! I can tell him ANYTHING and feel comfortable in doing so. Honestly???? I HATED counselors until I started seeing Peggy and then Matt as they both keep it real!!!! And literally everybody else there (I’d be here all day typing names) is the best of the best of the best!!!! I would recommend them to anyone facing addiction problems…if there’s such a thing as a solution, they’re it!!!! 💜

  While I am not proud to share this fact, I have been in numerous clinics in the area, and none of them came remotely close to the level of care, kindness, and system of support that South Amboy Health Center has. From the receptionist (Samantha), to the woman who collects the urine (Lisa), to the nurses who medicate the clients, the person responsible for hiring the staff could not have recruited a better group of people.
  I am in the unfortunate position of having no support system to speak of, and I thank my lucky stars that this clinic provides me with one whose attributes I can't even articulate. Language is too limited to enable me to do so.
  Particularly, my counselor Matt has gone above and beyond in every way. If there were an Oscars for methadone counselors, he would win it hands down. Were I to list his attributes, this would be a lengthy review, but suffice it to say, they have significantly aided my sobriety, which is now approximately 164 days.
  So thank you South Amboy Health Center, particularly Matt.

  Unfortunately, I have been to so, so many treatment facilities while trying to stay on the path of recovery. Treatment facilities from IOP, Halfway houses, inpatient rehabilitation centers, Oxford houses, TC programs, mental health facilities and more. Some of those facilities i have been to more than twice because I'm that stubborn when it comes to asking for help. That has always been my downfall. However, South Amboy Health Center makes it EASY for me to ask for help. I never, ever thought I'd feel that way ANYWHERE. From the front desk to the nurses and counselors and everyone in between, everyone is so pleasant and empathetic. Its almost as if the people who work at the South Amboy treatment center will personally suffer if their patients don't get the help they need. Thats how they act. Their main goal was to make sure I am as comfortable as possible and assisted in every possible way they could. They go above and beyond, that's my experience. Huge, huge, HUGE shout out to the counselor Mat. Hes personable, enjoyable to speak with even when the topic isn't so enjoyable. The entire staff is understanding to a level I've never ever experienced anywhere else and thats saying alot coming from someone like me. I've been to treatment facilities where no one is on the same page so I'd get conflicting answers and then the patient is the one who ends up suffering. However, this facility is clean and EVERYONE seems to be on the same page. The coworkers work side by side which helps them stay strong as a team and its amazing they recognize that. Obviously, I cannot say enough good things about this place so ill leave it as this....
  If you are struggling and ashamed and lost. Go to the South Amboy Treatment Center. You will feel apart of, you'll feel valuable... you'll KNOW you matter. Because even though you sign in with a number, you are far from being "just a number" here. This is THE center to go to for help.

  Very professional and caring staff. They treat you like a normal person and give you the respect you deserve. The counselors do a wonderful job at helping you figure out the issues for your addiction and giving you the time of day to work thru them to help you get and stay clean. The staff truly care about their patients. Highly recommended.

  The best clinic I've gone too bar none. The people who work there are great, they actually care about how you're doing not just putting on an act. Eric who runs the place is top notch. He'll take the time too see how you're doing. Over all a great place too kick your habit and get your life back on track.
