My husband had the best care by the nurses and staff. Dealing with his cancer had been difficult however when he went for his infusion everyone was so caring.
Love this place, Dr Justin Persico and Andrea Brennan are awesome, they listen to your concerns and act quickly on them. When being assigned a chair for chemo sometimes it takes a while but remember they have to prep ur chemo meds right there and then, but staff is very accommodating, they offer u drinks, snacks, food, tv etc while u wait and always check in on u making sure ur ok. The Pallative care team are also awesome, Dr Malik, Dana Schmidt and Madelyn Robertson make an awesome team, I meet with Matty at least once a week via video chat and I gotta tell u this woman really cares and truly listens to you, she's easy to talk to when ur going through some really depressing moments. I usually get in and verify my arrival on the MyChart app and 3 mins later they call me and place band on my wrist then I have a seat and within 10 mins they call me for my bloodwork then they escort me to my drs office and within 5 mins my dr walks in and after that she or he escorts me to the infusion area where I'm assigned a chair complete with a super comfortable recliner of which I always fall asleep on 😊 then staff will try to make u as comfortable as possible until ur chemo meds are ready then the infusions begin. The staff who attend those station are magnificent, they really do work hard to make u as comfortable as possible. I just bring my ipad and headphones and I'm all good. I see a lot of bad reviews and i guess I'm just shocked as I've never had a bad experience with any of the staff, that being said I once got a really bad dizzy spell that one of the stations nurses who was escorting me noticed that I was about to slam my face against that beautiful hard floor she jumped so fast and caught me and held me up until help arrived, I now call her wonder woman 😂 she used all her strength in her 5ft body to do so, impressive .
Dr. Lynch and Dr. Ott are outstanding! They are warm and caring. They explained everything gently and thoroughly. I felt at ease that I was in their hands. You cannot even see my scars!
My team and the nurses in the center were unbelievable! They were positive, patient, friendly, and helpful. They were available for questions and got back to me within a few minutes or an hour.
I found the same excellent care with Dr. Dou, Dr. Mike, and my radiology team.
The receptionists were always pleasant, and even the security guards greeted me warmly every day.
The center had everything I needed so I didn't need to go to different places for appointments, treatments, or follow-ups.
You cannot get better care anywhere else! I highly recommend the Smilow Center in Trumbull. It is exceptional.
