Goat Biryani taste authentic, we got good meat pieces and meat quality is fresh (just like how we cook at home).
We also liked chicken 65, butter chicken, and naan.
Kids enjoyed brownie with ice cream, and coffee taste just like Indian style.
Service is good, they were friendly and fast. -

(April 29, 2023, 9:26 pm)My wife and I are big time foodies and we travel all over for food. So, Samudhra had been on our list for a long time - but with reservations hard to come by on the weekends - we tried mid week and were in luck!! However, being an Andhra focussed cuisine - we were looking at a couple of aspects:
1) Authenticity of taste
2) Freshness & quality
3) Plating & presentation
We therefore ordered a couple of items that is a staple of every Indian restaurants - e.g., Malai Kofta and Biryani - and some thing that seemed different - Gongura Chicken and Chicken Bhoot Jolokia (Assamese Ghost Peppers). I was seriously interested in the Chef's take on the heat quotient with the Ghost Peppers and we were pleasantly surprised. It had the heat - but not overwhelming - but the floral aroma of the Ghost Peppers were appropriately captured. It was one of the best Chicken dishes on their menu. Pair it with a Traditional Lemon Mojito if your spice tolerance is on the lower side.
The Chicken Gongura is another star on their menu. The tanginess of the Gongura leaves were properly captured and the overall dish is super flavorful.
Try their Tandoori Machhi (Fish) Tikka - a fantastic take with Salmon - nicely charred but not dried out. The pairings are fantastic. I would recommend a pickled salad as a pairing - but the cherry tomatoes worked just fine in cleansing the palate!!
To top it all - was the Chicken Hyderabadi Dum Biryani. The restaurant does not skimp on the portion side and it was one of the very good Hyderabadi Biryanis I have tasted (On the East coast). The rice was super flavorful - and had a slight hint of tartness that separates the Hyderabadi Biryani from its Awadhi cousin. The masalas were all there - making for a super aromatic biryani - but nothing was overpowering! If you are in a mood for Biryani - I would recommend ordering only this one dish and nothing else!
My only feedback is for their drinks. We ordered Traditional Lemon Mojitos and a Shirley Temple - we found all of them to be a bit on the sweeter side.
The overall service was made even better by their star server - Mohan! He made navigating the menu a breeze with his suggestions and knew exactly what we wanted! Their service is super quick even when the restaurant was full - their choice of utensils and cutlery - very clever! All in all - it was a fantastic experience! It was our Anniversary - thanks to the restaurant for making our visit very special! -

(September 22, 2022, 12:31 pm)I really like this place and this has been the only restaurant that I go back to back in New Jersey. The food quality and taste has been consistent, even thought the food quantity has been cut down. I love the Murgh Kalimirch, the Biryani’s and the natu kodi pulav and natu kodi vepudu. The Double ka meeta is a must try for all the sweet lovers. The vibe of the restaurant is great for families, couples and friends to hangout.
