(January 18, 2023, 5:10 pm)My first time here and I almost ignorantly interrupted Sal's morning prayer, but his regulars gently stopped me. They have enormous respect for him.
I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was delicious and made with love, but what got me was Sal's deadpan humor.
One of the regulars asked if Sal remembered to put jelly on his roll and without missing a beat Sal said, "no jelly, only ketchup with syrup". We all started roaring with laughter as Sal gets immediately back to work without a wink of recognition. Easily the coolest cat in Brooklyn.
Won my heart immediately 🥰 I'll be back tomorrow. -

(June 20, 2022, 2:35 pm)Great deli style diner with lots of options and fast service. They prepared a grilled chicken on a hero in just a few minutes, and were accurate with how I ordered it. The employees were friendly and the place seemed well kept despite how busy it was. Will definitely be back here!

(July 29, 2021, 12:12 am)I really love SAL’s I have been going there from a child and even as a adult I still live for the food.Sal’s is such a nice person and her never kiss a beat when it comes to preparing your food. It will be filled with so much love and many grateful favors that will leave you full and satisfied. I will recommend Sal’s for any time of the day, his food is for the soul and he’s such a humble person to this day.I love you Sal’s thank you for feeding me throughout the years, it was worth every bite.

(March 14, 2019, 12:10 pm)I've been walking past this place for over a year now and finally decided to stop in. I was not disappointed. When I looked at the menu and saw fish and grits, I knew this had to be the kind of place I had been looking for.
Being from Michigan and having lived in Atlanta, I felt like I was no longer in Brooklyn. Or rather I believed the owner when he said that they have been in business for over 30 years.
I had the fish and grits, delicious! Coming back for more breakfast and that fish sandwich.
