This building is truly a gem of University City. The Victorian house is incredibly well-maintained, and a lovely waiting area exists upstairs. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with "Hammies" (thick-cut potatoes with cheese and seasoning) and was greeted with an absolutely delectable meal. The provided brioche bun was perfectly toasted, and portions were quite large. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A little on the pricey side, but the food and atmosphere are well worth it!
Love this find! I had so many vegetarian options to choose from that I was overwhelmed. Loved my mushroom toast :) and everyone liked what they got too. My iced oatmilk latte was delicious and strong!
Great food, good service, and cute atmosphere. Servers are friendly & attentive, we were seated promptly, and service was fast. The food was great, no room for improvement! We got the chicken & waffles and shrimp & grits, with an Arnold Palmer & lemonade for drinks. All were great - the lemonade wasn’t too sweet, the cheesy grits were perfect consistency, and the whipped spread for the waffles was fluffy & light - these are all things that I’m particular about with each respective dish, so it was all perfect!
What a lovely place to have a breakfast or brunch at University City in Philadelphia! We've been there due to the great reviews and they were so right! The place is so cozy, and even being crowded on a Saturday morning, we've been seated and served quickly enough. Both of the meals we've ordered were just perfect - and limeades are also delicious. I've only removed one star from the atmosphere because the air conditioning was freezing to death. Anyway, an awesome place to go.
DELICIOUS!! The portion sizes were good. We had shrimp and grits and the Canoli French toast. The bread was so thick I had to get a to go container. Our server (unfortunately I forgot her name) was extremely sweet and pleasant. She checked on us frequently to make sure we didn't need anything else. Our wait ended up being about 20 minutes which is excellent for a Saturday afternoon. The lavender blueberry lemonade was amazing! We highly recommend this place and will put it on our list of places to visit the next time we come to Philly. The only thing I didn't like was the French toast platters are not served as a meal including meat and a side; I'm still coming back though 😉
