Always the best little hike and nature play!
We really enjoyed this unique park! We had a picnic at a picnic table. Toured the veggie garden. Kids played in the children’s natural play area and we took a walk on the paths. We saw a deer, cottontail rabbit, minnows and a crawfish! There is a TON of poison ivy everywhere not just off the trail. The google map location is incorrect. The narrow driveway was difficult to locate off such busy road. There is a large sign but it blends in.
A peaceful place to walk. Lots of pretty flowers and blooming trees this time of year.
Paths are a combination of woodchips, dirt, and concrete (sidewalk-esque)
Animals you're likely to see: squirrels, chipmunks, robins, woodpeckers, deer, fish, turtles (during warm, sunny weather), frogs (in summer), butterflies, dragonflies
Love that the park keeps adding to the children's play area 😄
For Pokemon Go players, there are multiple PokeStops and Gyms
Not as huge as some parks in the area, but one of my favorites. Easy, beautifully maintained (with fresh wood chips) trails to walk with little ones. Nature center has educational info and pavillion, as well as info panels along the trail. Features an old oak that had a knotted root by the Lenni Lenape, whose lands we reside on. Hidden gem in this area. Except for picnic area (with garden, meadow and compost education, at least pre-Covid), trails are shaded by trees. Creepy Pond (always green and covered with duckweed) is one of our favorite spots to visit where we listen to the toads, watch the dragonflies and hope to spot a turtle.
