Pick your own apples, pumpkins, and sunflowers without all the hoopla! If you're looking for a fun time building memories and taking great photos - this is the place to do it. My family and I have been visiting Riamede farm for years now and we keep coming back. It's a passage to fall and winter for us. If you're lucky to see Ashley and Jamie walking the grounds - say Hi and ask them about some of the off season classes they offer. They are friendly and warm and will enhance your visit to this beautiful farm.
We love Riamede Farm! Hands down best apple cider donuts in the game!!!
I did think it was a little expensive to get in this year. In years past you would pay a couple dollars for the bag itself, but this year you paid extra and in return received 1 lb. of free apples for each ticket. A lot of the people we went with didn't even get apples, but obviously paid the $11 to get in. I understand the business model, but wasn't expecting it to be as much as it was.
We had the best time together with family and for that I would pay whatever I needed to! I was also pleasantly surprised with the amount of apples still left on the trees! Typically by the middle of October a lot of the trees are bare, but that was not the case this time!
Visited Riamede on a sunday afternoon and man were there lots of people lol good thing about the place is that they have ample parking space and a huge apple picking area so once youre inside it doesnt feel too crowded at all.
Weekends there are pricey though as you have to pay an entrance fee which comes with 1lb free apples each person. Unfortunately there was hardly any apples left. The trees were very close to being bare and the apples left are all at the top. And with no apple picking poles available to use it was tough finding good apples and filling those bags up. Regardless, we persevered and filled our bags to our content and the good thing about this, despite the lack of fruit, was that the apples were indeed very tasty, crunchy and sweet.
On weekends they also have some food stands with fries, funnel cakes and chicken tenders. But what most people really go for over there is (no surprise!) their apple cider donuts. Sugary, “cinnamony” and soft - they are pretty good treats. They sold out at 2pm but we managed to get the second-to-the-last pair of boxes whew!
They have corn maze/trail and a pumpkin patch but It wasnt as enjoyable for me compared to their apple picking. They have very few choices for mums back in the barn but they do have lots of corn and colorful gourds. Overall not a bad place for a fall activity. Glad we gave it a shot.
Apple picking, pumpkin patches...go enjoy fall here. We went unfortunately on a rainy day, but still enjoyed it. They have a variety of apples here. The entry fee was pricey at $11, getting you a pound of apples. Extra pounds will be $2.99, as with supermarket price. Would go again? Probably not.
After going to Riamede Farm, I have nothing but good things to say! Going on a gloomy Monday was probably best for crowd minimization and lower costs. While this isn't the biggest farm around it has lots of apples and competitive (the best of 3 farms in the area that I went to). There's also pumpkins a corn trail and PYO squash sunflowers and tomatoes.
What really made my visit special was one employee named Danielle (I hope I am spelling that right). She took the time to explain to me and a friend of mine all the different types of apples and different strategies to see it all. She spent extra time pairing apple types to our tastes and uses. Most of all she provided fun facts about apples. When we returned she was genuinely interested in knowing we had a good time and was super pleasant and my day!
If you are in the area I highly recommend making this your first stop and if you are given the chance go on a weekday for two reasons, no crowds and Danielle. You won't regret it.
