(August 18, 2021, 6:13 pm)This is my favorite bookstore in the world. It feels like a genuine public/community space. The money goes toward local literacy programs, but the prices are so low (paperbacks are ¢25) that the shop itself is a public service, making books accessible to everyone. People are free to browse and read for long periods of time, and they do, which is wonderful. It’s housed in a building that looks like it must have once been a DMV or some bureaucratic institution of that nature… definitely has public school library vibes i.e it’s cute, cozy, and nostalgic. I wish every community could have a bookstore like this. I hope this place never changes.
