I can't tell you haw frustrated I've been with this group. My exam was fine but when it came to ordering new glasses they dropped the ball 4-5 times. the eyes I received, hurt my eyes, and gave me head aches. They replace the glasses 4 times only to have the same issues each time. I requested to get a new pair of my current (past) prescription twice several weeks ago, and I'm still waiting.
Great Doctor, Lacking Office
First, I would like to state that working with Dr. Shelli L. Ravine, OD was great. She was thorough, reassuring and very pleasant. I am not a glasses wearer and had not received an eye exam since I was a child. She gave me a lot of good information about eye health and avoiding potential issues down the line.
As I do not wear glasses I do not have vision insurance. My health insurance provider, Aetna has a discount plan that allows for discounted exams at many participating providers. Before making my appointment I called to see if they participate in this program. I was told they do and made the appointment. I was then told I could fill out my patient information form online before my visit.
The online patient information form is not secure and requires a vast amount of personal information to be sent over an open connection.
When I got to my appointment the reception area was very noisy with confusion. I told them about the in-security of the online form and filled out a paper form. When I handed it in I again asked about the participation in the Aetna Discount Program and told them again I didn’t have a vision plan. They said they would sort it out no problem.
At the end of the appointment I paid my usual co-pay and was told I would be billed for the remaining balance. Three months after the visit I was billed for the full amount. When I call to discuss it I was told, “I do not have a vision plan” and they “do not participate” in the Aetna Discount Program.” After that they offered me a $30 discount on the bill. I explained to them that I confirmed this with them twice and that it was very annoying. After that I paid the remaining bill and emailed them the information about the program so that they can avoid this confusion with future patients.
