  Being referred to Dr. Vemulapalli was a blessing. He provided me with literature on prostate cancer and answered all questions about the voyage ahead. He was a straight shooter and has a wonderful way of assuring me everything was going to be alright. Originally, I had mixed feeling about going to St. Luke's Hospital but I left it up to Dr.V . My main concern was to remove the prostate cancer as soon as possible and if it meant going to St. Luke's, than so be it. The Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic equipment is the same at any hospital. It's the skill of the surgeon that matters the most. St. Luke's Montefiore Hospital is lucky to have a surgeon with magical hands like Dr. Vemulapalli.

  Dr. V is the best! I have been his patient for over 8 years and he has been amazing. I went to him with what I thought was a simple bladder infection which he found to be stage 3 kidney cancer. Can’t say it enough, great doctor and surgeon...

  I went to Dr. Vemulapalli with high psa scores (not good). He did a biopsy and found aggressive cancer. Unfortunately this was this spring when Covid started coming around. He recommended surgery but also refereed me to another doctor to check options. He did not pressure me, but let me review alternatives. As it turned out I became well informed about my disease and opted for the surgery. Dr. V did an excellent job and I am healing very well. It is a shame he works thru St. Lukes in Newburgh. Otherwise a great doctor that explains everything.

  Doctor V is amazing. I just had surgery with him. He explains everything very clearly to his patients. He even drew the problem for me and my parents and even showed us the CT scan images and explained everything in detail. He was very open to answer any and all questions and was very sympathetic. I highly recommend him even the post OP nurse was impressed when she saw he pulled up the images on one of the computers to explain the situation in detail to my parents and me.
