  So I just turned 60 and this is my first time purchasing prescription glasses and I wasn't sure where to go to so I called Plainville Optical in my hometown and I am glad that I did. I called at 9:30 am this morning and spoke to Maddy. She said that I have to make an appointment and asked me where I was and I said I am in the center of town. She said come on down and scheduled me right away. The other important thing that customers should know is that they accept Medicaid. Maddy was extremely professional and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to work with her. I would totally recommend Plainville Optical.

  Having gone twice for an exam and new glasses, I can say the employees and doctors are all very nice and accommodating. They explain everything thoroughly and always ask if you have any questions. I would highly recommend them for eye care.

  Long story short, over the last 5 years I have gone to 2 big name optical centers. One gave me too strong glasses that I can’t see out of or use (the prescription was changed twice and I still can’t use them) and they did not treat me well at all. They treated me like I had cheated with someone’s husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend. For the record I did not! The next place treated me well like a normal patient but both places said my contact lens prescription was good. One visit with Plainville Optical and I can now see clearly with new contact lenses, I never want to take them out. They took the time to actually check my vision and give me the correct contact lens prescription. They also told me my glasses were way too strong. I will take care of the expensive glasses that I haven’t been able to use to them for backup. I mainly wear contact lenses but I haven’t had any kind of backup in years. They are efficient, effective, knowledgeable, nice and friendly. I am so very happy I wandered into their location.
