I was the typical instrument student with a full professional schedule attempting to slog through my instrument rating. This went on for several years, until the day another pilot heard me talking about my experiences. He told me, "you have to call PIC!! They will get you finished up and trained very well." He was 100% accurate. I contacted PIC and very shortly, they had me on the phone and getting scheduled with an instructor. I had a few scheduling delays due to aircraft maintenance issues, PIC was very accommodating with these unforeseen obstacles and had me rescheduled. My instructor arrived and we jumped right into the training. At the end of our time together i felt very confident about my instrument abilities and checkride success. After a few more personal delays and illness, I again reached out to PIC for some refresher training. Alan was back out and we spend 3 days doing some intense training. Shortly after this refreshed course I was for a brief moment the newest instrument rated pilot. PIC was excellent on every level, initial contact, information provided before my instructor arrived, the training and last but not least..My instructor, Alan was awesome. Thank you again PIC...for everything.

Last month, I complete a finish-up course for my instrument rating and couldn’t be happier. I worked with Donn to define what I needed having a lot of instrument time already. Having started this journey nearly 20 years ago, Donn and I agreed that I only needed a few days to be ready. Larry showed up and gave me the skills I needed to not only pass my checkride, but build the foundations of a safe and competent instrument pilot. What was started so long ago, and have been working to refine over the years, I was able to wrap up in just a handful of days because of PIC training. I highly recommend this for everyone to include the newly-minted private, to the instrument pilot who wants to refine their skills. My only recommendation- be ready to work. I couldn’t have be happier and relieved when it was over. Thanks again!

I signed up with PIC to complete my IFR training. Having already spent a descent amount of time flying with my home sim and with my aircraft I felt that the compressed course would fit my style of learning and my current abilities. PIC did not disappoint. I was assigned Bob Yarmey as my instructor. Bob taught me how to operate in the IFR system with ease and confidence. Where the text books and training videos end, Bob is right there to fill in the gaps. Bob's knowledge and experience spans several eras of aviation and his devotion to his craft shines through every day. His tales are legendary and his personal strength and knowledge are impressive. I was ready and prepared for my check ride on Day 10, two days ahead of schedule.

I wanted to earn my IFR rating in as little time as possible as I know so many pilots that start on the process, drag it out, lose proficiency and don't finish. I read about PIC IFR 10-day training in AOPA and another magazine article that rated IFR training companies and as a self-motivation tactic, I hired them (and scheduled my training for a future date) before I even started studying for the written exam.
PIC assigned me to instructor Bob Yarmey from upstate Maine. I could not possibly be happier with Bob as my instructor. He is kind, calm, supportive, extremely patient and unbelievably knowledgeable. Not only does he know everything necessary to prepare a student to be a good IFR pilot, but he has had so many students go through check rides (well over 400), that he knows all the permutations of what any examiner might ask and he prepared me to answer all those questions and deal with all those scenarios. There was not one single question or check ride performance item asked of me that Bob and the PIC written material had not prepared me to answer or perform. If I missed anything, it was because I didn’t remember the item or messed up, not because Bob had not prepared me. He knows the test IFR standards explicitly and equally important, he has had so much experience with so many different airplanes and panel instruments that I learned a ton of things from him that I didn’t know about my Garmin 430/530, my transponder, auto-pilot, GI275 stack and Foreflight. He also taught me many additional basic flying skills to make me a better pilot. I would recommend Bob and PIC to anyone! And as an added bonus – Bob’s students get the benefit of Chief Engineer “Paxie” flying along on every trip (see pic)!

The PIC program was perfect for me. The program allowed me to accomplish exactly what I set out to accomplish – zero to IFR license in less than 2 months. I had never cracked a book and had only the 3 hours of hood time required for a private pilot’s license prior to September 10th and on November 9th I am holding my IFR license!

PIC does what they claim they do and they stand behind their services. They are a professionally managed, well-run organization with highly qualified instructors on staff. I would recommend them to anyone looking to tackle their IFR rating!

I had approximately 7 hours instrument time before my schedule was conflicting with flight training. I reached out to PIC to finish my training, they were more than happy to help me. I had to reschedule a few times I had no issues rescheduling time. The instructor was very knowledgeable and easy to learn from. He tailored the course to my best suit my learning style. I was able to finish in 8 days and had taken 3 weeks before I was able to checkride, I passed with flying colors! I would recommend this program to anybody who wants an instrument rating in a short time! 10/10 for me
