This is definitely a fantastic experience. I was not excited to see the zoo because it's quite small compared to my hometown zoo but holy cow! This zoo was packed full of fantastic animals as soon as you walk in the gates.
The enclosures are absolutely wonderful and the staff is so friendly! One staff member just ateolled up to my family and I to ask if we wanted to see some beetles and we followed this person on a trip to a nearly vacant building to see some cool beetles. Thank goodness it was really a zoo employee and not a serial killer because we just followed without questioning anything lmao.
The animals all look incredibly cozy and happy and very well cared for. This was a fantastic experience!
Super clean, even on a nice day didn't seem insanely crowded. Lots of options for kids - petting goats was free, highly recommend paying the $4-6 to feed some of the birds at the wings of Asia exhibit, and feed the giraffes (when they're hungry)!
I had a wonderful day here with my wife. The zoo feels so much bigger than it actually is! Went on a Sunday morning and plenty of the animals were active, save for a couple. My wife really wanted to see the red pandas and we got to see one! It was the absolute best. The gift shop was nice, but left just a little to be desired. Still bought some awesome souvenirs from our first trip to America's first zoo. So excited to come back and get the most out of our membership!
Will definitely go again. Didn't cost me too much and I found a free parking space! I enjoyed my day off but I missed my love. He should have been here with me to enjoy the flamingos and the lovely lemurs and all of the whoop whoopers. And there is this beautiful orangutan! He wears a cape he loves his fabric! He is so majestic and perfect. Great day for families to get out and see some animals there's a new lemur exhibit where you can go in and experience the lemurs first hand! They are in a very open exhibit and I asked how do they stay in? And the woman explained to me that they are very afraid of water so there is a moat around their exhibit and they do not cross the water ever never ever cross the water! I found this fascinating.. If you have young kids you have to check out the tree house! Please find the tree house. It's tucked off to the right of the entrance and you will not see it outright but it is worth going to. There's like huge displays of ants and dinosaurs and weird things that they can climb on a gigantic tree and some spider webs. It's basically a house for kids to use their energy. I wish I was a kid again!
