Great trailhead for the Perkiomen Trail. This trail is great for cycling and walking.

Hadn’t biked here since the fall, but decided to rectify that. Got a later start then normal, but glad we still decided to come for a ride. We typically park at the Orange lot and begin at the start of the Perkiomen Trail, which is what the 3 of us attempted to do! Started off, got to the bridge and Surprise! Didn’t know the bridge was under construction and will be until at least October of 2023. Took out our phones and the park map to figure out how to bypass the bridge. Based on that and some input from a lovely woman that lives just down from the bridge, we decided to bike back to our cars (instead of biking on Rt. 29) and then drive to the next closest lot, which is the Crusher Road Trail. Our group decided that even after the bridge reopens we’re probably going to make the Crusher Road Lot our new starting point. It’s a much smaller lot, but not much further for us than the Orange Lot. Our group of 4 is used to riding on the D & L Trails so the Perkiomen Trail is a bit more challenging for us because of the number of small, but challenging hills especially the one that’s a 12% grade! Round trip we went about 12 miles today due to the later start and the rain!! Completed the last 5 miles in the rain, which only got heavier as we neared the Crusher Road Lot. Of course the rain stopped and the sun came out as we were putting our bikes in our bike racks! Our goal is to keep coming back to the Perkiomen Trail until we can ride most of the 12% grade hill instead of walking it! My reason for the 4 stars is because of the bridge closure. Our mistake for not checking the website before heading out, but I’m not sure we would have know that it would have affected our ride when starting from the Orange Lot. Suggestion and reason for the 4 stars. There should be information posted on the bridge closure sign with directions on how to get to a new lot and it should also state the approximate time period for the bridge closure. So, a few challenges with todays ride, but great to get out for a ride with friends!
First time riding this particular trail I had an enjoyable ride, really like the climb on the short steep hill.
Nice trail. Flat, loose gravel trail good for walking, bicycling, and horseback riding.
I wanted to go down to the river, but all of the land on both sides of the trail is private property.
Still a nice place, though.
