  This magnificent and welcoming library offers a tranquil oasis of quiet sanctuary. So many cherished architectural features include fireplaces, stunning original Tiffany stained glass windows, ornate wrought iron scrollwork everywhere, and intricate woodwork. A wonderful place to read, walk the manicured grounds and participate in the numerous activities and lectures on the many diverse and fascinating subjects. A true gem in the exquisite town of Southport, CT.

  Always love visiting this beautiful library and it's beautiful architecture and stained glass.
  Also great is attending the yearly huge summer book sale.

  Excellent library for little ones! They had a terrific program this summer for my preschooler (moon sand, bubbles, music, crafts, etc). Thank you Ms.Jane!

  This is a great library in a historical building. It hosts a great collection - but perhaps the best is being able to read, study and write in wonderful old rooms with fireplaces. The Library has films and discussion groups - lectures - - for book and library lovers -readers -this is a wonderful place to spend time out of the house exploring the collections, reading and studying. The unique setting in the midst of beautiful lawns - can be rented out for events and weddings.
  
  I am a book lover and reader - from the 1960s on I have spent many an afternoon in this wonderful old library.
