Therapist Nicholas Carlo is very attentive, knowledgeable, compassionate to his patients. Highly recommended!
Finding Pathways has been a blessing. Our son was having challenges understanding and managing his emotions. Their unique environment and approach has really helped him open up. Their therapist are not only committed to helping they bring a passion to their work that shows how they genuinely care. Special thanks to Rena for her insight and expertise!
Rena English is a wonderful children's therapist. Not only does she help my young child manage his emotions, but she helps me advocate on his behalf to his school and our district so he receives appropriate services. We would be lost without Rena.
I cannot say enough good things about this business especially because of Rena English. I found Pathways when I called a friend of mine who is a social worker and told her my 3 year was suffering from debilitating separation anxiety (and I’m not talking mommy has to go to work, I’m talking mommy needed to use the restroom and she would have a panic attack (thanks Covid )
My friend reached out to her network and asked for an amazing play therapist and Rena’s name came up repeatedly.
Going in I could never imagine my little shadow , my stuck like Saran Wrap on me , baby girl to leave my side for a second. Well, we went in and out came “Dr . Rena” (my daughter wants to be a doctor so that’s how I got her in the door ) Rena got right down to my daughters level with a big smile, a soothing voice , and said “I heard you want to be a doctor , would you like to see my doctor toys ?”
My little shadow got a big smile on her face and off she went and I exhaled for the first time in a long time .
We are Coming up on our 6th month anniversary with Dr. Rena and she is now our family therapist lol
My 2 daughters have play therapy with her ,I get parenting techniques training , and my husband and I have our marital counseling.
My daughters (now 5 and almost 4) just attended a mini camp for winter break there and it was the best time they had .
They continued learning coping , sensory play , yoga, breathing techniques etc but also got to have a social setting that they were so severely lacking due to the 1.5 year shut down .
Imagine little tiny people telling you to do your “wave breathing “ When the going gets tough . Nothing but good things can come or therapy.
It’s made an amazing difference
The office itself is immaculately clean .
The bathroom is pristine .
The waiting room (Massapequa) has a calming vibe with great art and an inviting coffee/snack bar (it’s the only time in my week I can drink an actual hot cup of coffee )
If you’re thinking of getting counseling , stop thinking and just do it .
There’s no shame in it . It’s the most wonderful thing you can do for you , for your family , your children what have you .
If you’re thinking of seeking play therapy for your kids , stop thinking and just ask for Rena .
I’m a fierce mama bear , I want the best for them always , and she’s the best .
We have been through and continue to go through a lot as a society . Just stop thinking about it, and do it . Pathways was awesome with taking care of all the insurance and that noise . Just do it
I had the opportunity to work with Rachel Lessard out of Pathways Within.
Rachel demonstrated a level of kindness and professionalism that I greatly appreciated from a therapist.
She was instrumental in my journey as I navigated my divorce and trying to figure out what it was that I needed to heal from it, how to better value myself as a person, and how to set better boundaries with those around me.
She also taught me that it's okay to say "no" to people when they have gone too far and she helped me to start loving myself again when I had really stopped due to a number of years of abuse.
I would recommend her for PTSD, Trauma, and Abuse counseling as she has a warm heart and is very compassionate for her clients. She also keeps it quite real and will be direct with you and honest if you ask her to do so.
Without her, I would not be in the place I am today.
