First time playing here and really enjoyed it. It's a great course for beginners or intermediate players like myself. Fairways can be tight but very playable. The greens are challenging in that they are wavy and irregular, but nicely kept. The greenery, flowers, water and bunkers make it visibly pleasing. The lounge/restaurant looked great and the pro shop was nicely stocked.
The course this season has been in great condition. The staff has been very courteous and helpful and the pace of place of play the last half of the season has been very good.
Great Course! I have played in 43 or the 50 states and this is one of the best values. I played it in a downpour because it was my getaway day and I wanted to make sure to check Connecticut off the list. The only disappointing part was some of the behavior by some of the staff. As per usual I like to show up early for my tee time by :30 minutes, one of the gentlemen working the pro shop looked at me like I was from Mars for being early. The second man was very nice, a silver hair guy, I didn't get his name. After checking in I went to retrieve a cart and checked in with the starter. He asked if I was part of a tournament that morning and I said no that I was the first tee time and wanted to get out of there way. I then asked where the first tee was and he directed me. I hit my first shot about :15 early and then waited for the maintenance team to clear the green. The same guy that just directed me to the first tee drove up and ask me, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I said I'm sorry I misunderstood, I thought I was OK to tee off. He said no and I apologized again. I told him I do not have any problem waiting until 7:30. Five minutes later a maintenance worker drives up and asks "what the hell are you doing"? I explained to him that it was a misunderstanding and I'm waiting for the crew to clear to hit my second shot. He told me to go back to the first tee and wait for your start time, it wound have made a 1 minute difference. I get back to the first tee and there is someone else there waiting to explain the same thing to me. I am now on my 4th apology. He explained to me that the superintendent gets VERY upset with the golf staff when they let singles off at 7:30. I had this tee time set up 3 days in advance and no one ever mentioned this to me and the online booking allowed me to secure the time. I'm pretty sure that the maintenance person on the fairway was the superintendent because he was super angry. My synopsis is that this is a VERY good superintendent that is a primadonna. He is SO good that he feels he is allowed to engage with the public. I have played on over 300 courses and have never had an interaction with a maintenance person let alone and bad one! Still a great course and a great value. Oh, and the lady at the turn snack shop was unbelievably kind! So was the sliver hair gentleman. And the starter eventually was nice after my fifth and sixth apology.
Played a round there today 10/12/2021. The course did not inform the golfers before hand that you could only play the back 9(twice if you liked). The fairways and greens were in very good shape. The only reason I rated them a 5 out of 5 was because of the course assistant Mason who went above and beyond in being generous with his time and help. Keep up the excellent customer service.

There is Italian restaurant on the property, called Quattro Pazzi, which is a good place to go after the round.
