We had an issue from Frontier regarding a broken phone line with exposed wires and after many hours of waiting and many calls later they wanted us to wait 3 weeks for them to come out to repair the line and we would also have no service during that time! out of desperation I went to the Newtown building department for assistance, Mary Pendergast there was so helpful and patient with me by calling both Eversource & Frontier about our issues and within a couple hours they both came and fixed the lines and the service resumed! Newtown has been a wonderful community for us for over 20 years but the excellent service I got from the building department today was just way beyond our expectations and I’m so grateful for their help.
P&Z, building, and health departments have been a pleasure to work with from a homeowner point of view. We recently built a home here and we're pretty involved and they were all very clear and easy to work with.

The Deputy Tax Assessor, Andrea was very professional, helpful, answered all my questions with great detail. Led me in the right direction. When I returned several days later I was meant at the counter by Rina, she also was very professional, took care of why I was there with a great attitude, had me on my way within minimal time.
I have dealt with the town of NEWTOWN for 2+ years and have had a great and professional experience every time I needed help with anything. They are the best at what they do!!
