    My daughter has been taking drum lessons with Mike at Newington Music for about 5 years now. She also plays with the band and it's been amazing to watch their relationship unfold and grow over time. The way he works with her has changed as her skills develop. She is confident and has a love for playing and an appreciation for music in large part to the exposure and mentorship from Mike and their “jam sessions”. Highly recommend for any age and any instrument.

    Mike is fantastic. He's been teaching one of my kids for three years, and another one of my kids just started. He does great with all levels of experience and all ages. They have group performances a few times a year that are a lot of fun.

    My children have been taking lessons with Mike for nearly a year and it has been a great experience! First time lessons for the kids and Mike has helped them begin to grow musically. He has been flexible to adjust to their learning speed and makes lessons fun. Mike’s years of experience helped us feel confident he was the right music teacher.

    My son has been taking piano lessons from Mike for the past few years. He enjoys the lessons as well as seeing Mike. He works with my sons level perfectly, never makes him feel uncomfortable in any way, is extremely patient, very friendly, accommodating, you name it. His communication is impeccable, which is rare these days. Mike has a strong connection with his students like no other. You really couldn't ask for a better teacher or person in general. I highly recommend Mike/Newington Music for anyone, no matter what age to learn music. We are all very lucky to have someone like him in this area.
    Five stars across the board!

    My son has been taking piano and drum lessons from Mike for the past 3 years. Mike is a kind and patient teacher. He is wonderful at keeping my son interested in music. He takes personal interest in my son's taste in music and tries to teach him songs that he enjoys. We would highly recommend Mike for all instrumental lessons.
