New Hebron Cemetery (also known as Andover Road Cemetery) is a colorful old cemetery. Most of the older stones are on the right hand side in the back and there are many very interesting stones here. There are a few from Obadiah Wheeler and a few more by Benjamin Collins. Aaron Haskins and Gershom Bartlett stones are well represented. The stones are generally generally in good condition with very little lichen. I found the some of the messages very sad. 30 year old Tamer Bliss is burried with her 7th child and "the sweet babe sleeps in a fond mother's arms." Joseph and Jeanna Phelps lost two children within 4 days in 1775-Jenna aged 4 died on Nov. 16 and Lydia just 5 days old died on Nov. 18th 1775. It seems like if you could make it to adulthood, then many of these people lived into their 70's and 90's.
