I can't say enough positive things about this place and Paul Ramunni. A wonderful organization led by a great human and worth spending time at for musicians, museum enthusiasts, and honestly anyone who likes learning
A powerful and enlightening experience awaits you upon entering the door to this museum. Memories from your youth come to the forefront leaving you in tears. What an amazing place to view a collection of accordions. Paul was a gracious host, explaining the stories associated with each device. A family member played the accordion while young, bringing back memories. It is recommended to call or write ahead to see if the museum is open.
My mom randomly found this place and asked me if I wanted to go with her. She used to play the accordion when she was a kid(mid 60’s). When she said “accordion museum”, my first thought was: “There’s an accordion museum?!” And my second thought was:”What could possibly be so interesting about this?” I decided to indulge my mom. We traveled 1 hr 40 mins to get here and it felt like forever. Just driving in the middle of nowhere. LOL. But, when we got there- I was impressed. Paul was so nice and so kind, taking the time to talk to us and find out what brought us there. He played us a song and even let my mom sit down and play a few accordions. (She almost took one home, but decided not to).
There are accordions wall to wall, top to bottom-all different kinds of makes and models. I was actually surprised at how beautiful some of them are. Who would have thought that learning about accordions would be fun? Definitely recommend you check this place out( and plan a day out if you’re traveling a long distance)!
Wonderful place to visit if you have any connection to accordions whatsoever in your part or family’s past…heck, I’d go even further that it’s an amazing place period. Paul loves to share stories and walk you around the showroom - it’s a historical bonanza of accordions from the past 100 years and the sheer view of wall to wall squeezeboxes is quite the sight to behold. I went back again with my 11 yo son and he was amazed as well. And yes - there is an annex room with accordions for sale. It is free but there is a donation box if you are so moved:)
