  Safety is the number one concern. Ellenville is a hard place to learn and that makes for some great pilots. Learning hang gliding is not an easy task it is hard, but the reward is amazing! Any constructive criticism you receive here is in your best interest for your safety. Thank you Greg for your instruction!

  Expect some shouting on your way to H2, but Greg is looking out for your best interests and safety as a pilot. He also has a reputation for training safe, competent pilots.
  
  Tony and Paul (probably #2 and #3 on Google for Ellenville Hang Gliding) are also very good at what they do. You have three excellent instructors in Ellenville and you can't go wrong choosing any of them. I chose Greg.
  
  Hang gliding is an amazing sport and even from NYC it's worth the effort. It's a great excuse to get out of the city, and Ellenville is only 100 minutes away from Manhattan. You'll have your feet off the ground on Greg's (safe) training hill on the first or second day, and at that point, you'll know if you want to do this sport or not.

  While scheduling my introductory class was difficult due to poor communication from the staff, the redemption comes in-person. The instructors are patient, strong, intuitive, and full of leadership capability. The experience is exhilarating. The facility is a bit underwhelming and could be cleaned up...a lot. Safety is their #1 concern and at no point did anyone every feel anything less than 100% safe. I highly recommend Kip as your instructor and plan on returning in the Spring to begin my Hang 1 certification.
