  My son has been a karate student here for 3 months now. He is a fun-loving, high energy kiddo, who finds most sports boring. To say that he enjoys karate at this Dojo is an understatement. Usually, he gets frustrated and down on himself when he doesn't get things right the first time. I don't know how he does it, but somehow Sensei Noah has a way of giving him feedback that he can receive without being so hard on himself. My husband and I especially love the way all of the students celebrate eachother's successes, and how the higher ranks happily help the lower ranks meet their personal goals. The night he earned his Orange Belt he kept saying, "Wow im so proud of myself for passing my test guys!" The self discipline he is learning here will be a life long gift. We are so thankful for the positive impact that Mountain Stream Budo and Sensei Noah has had on our boy.

  Sensei Noah is a wonderful teacher, very technical, and knowledgeable. His dojo is a wonderful place to train. I highly recommend it for anybody interested in karate, jujutsu, katana, or kobudo.

  Sensei Noah Mitchell is an incredibly accomplished martial artist, a devoted teacher as well as a fun and interesting person. I started to train on traditional Japanese weapons (Kobudo) with him at his Mountain Stream Budo dojo in Putnam Valley, NY, about three years ago. I have also been training in traditional Karate Do in another dojo for over 20 years, so I can appreciate the specific talents that Sensei Noah brings to his teaching. He is a great technician, with a sharp eye to the fine points of kata, and a global knowledge of martial arts. This allows him to draw from jujitsu, karate, kobudo and Japanese-sword (all styles in which he holds high ranking black belts) when he explains the how's and why's we do certain techniques, rather than repeating them as dogma. His classes are very traditional and follow all the etiquette I came to expect from my martial arts experience; yet, he can make classes be fun and relaxed, an ideal way of learning budo. But he is rigorous and stern at promotion time which motivates us as his students to be well prepared and know the whole material in the syllabus. Bottom line is that Sensei Noah is a fun teacher whose love for martial arts shows in the way he teaches and whose lifetime experience as a teacher makes his students reach their potential and his dojo be a true place of enlightenment.

  Outstanding, I recently brought one of my nephews here and was extremely impressed. Many years ago I trained and to see Sensei Noah Mitchell's skill level and professionalism in person was something I have never scene. His approach, demeanor, commitment and respect for the art and his students were of the highest quality. My nephew was entirely excited and inspired. It is a priceless value for his self defense confidence, physical agility as well as his character development. This is definitely the place to go for direct teacher instruction, I don't think anyone could do better.

  My son has been going here for a good while now, I must say that this place is worth the money and plenty of fun and good for the children.
