(August 13, 2022, 9:28 am)Choosing a nursing facility for my dad was a difficult task not really knowing what to look for. Some facilities were designed like fancy hotels but once inside we noticed the staff looked exhausted , over worked or un happy with their workplace. Mount Carmel was different.and my dads experience there reflects that difference. Every caregiver who enters my fathers room brings a unique way to understand my father, not just his needs but who he is , what brings a smile to his face. On many occasions I’ve heard him express his love for those caring for him and the gesture is reciprocated.
Mount Carmels communication with family also has been outstanding. They reach out regularly for care plan meetings and any medical or prescription changes in a timely reassuring manner. Any concerns or questions we’ve had are answered immediately.
The decision to place my father in a nursing care facility was a difficult step but there’s no doubt in my mind that Mount Carmel was absolutely the right choice. -

(August 12, 2022, 6:04 pm)This is the fourth nursing home my sister has been in, the first was good, but when she had to go back they had no room, the second was o.k. very impersonal and lack of feeling from the staff, it was just a job, the third and worst should be out of business She ended up with Maggots in her wound, all kinds of infections the list goes on. I tried four times to get her into Mt. Carmel the first was full the 2nd Ida didn't want to leave the place even though the care was horrible, the third time she still didnt want to leave afraid of the unknown. The fourth time Mt. Carmel called I said we will take it. I took it out of my sisters hands and did what was right for her. I have never regretted the move. The care is phenomenal, the nurses are attentive and catch any little thing that pops up. The food is good, the people are like family and treat my sis like their own. Its very clean no smells or flies like the other place. The nuns come to visit and the priest and though we are not catholic they pray with us. The activity crew do and awesome job to include everyone and give them a little nudge so they don't get left alone and my sister needs a nudge and once she goes she is happy. I know this is a long review, but it is well deserved. The people working there actually care and it isn't just a job to them. And it shows. Plus its close to home and I visit everyday. Thanks to all at Mt. Carmel for taking such good care of my sister.

(August 12, 2022, 11:14 am)Mt Carmel takes loving care of my Mom. Mom doesn’t talk much, but all the staff engages her anyway and, as a result, gets a smile or a comment. They make her feel loved and important. Additionally, all the staff welcomes visitors, each and everyone saying “hello, can I help?” I and other family and visitors have been ignored in other facilities. I don’t have to worry for a moment about Mom’s care and safety.

(August 12, 2022, 10:49 am)My 104 year old mother has been at MCCC for 4 years. I wouldn't want her anywhere else. It is very clean facility and the staff are excellent. They are caring and warm in their approach to the residents, and treat them like family.The rehab staff also is top notch. My mother is very happy there and compliments the staff every time I come to visit her. It is truly a jewel in Berkshire County among nursing homes.

(November 3, 2021, 10:22 am)I am a employee of Mount Carmel Care Center. I have worked in many places during my 37 years as a nurse. This facility is by far the best. It feels more like a home than a facility. The staff are friendly and work as a team. I would be very comfortable placing my family or loved ones into the care of Mount Carmel if the need arises.
