In 2015 i was fortunate to get a job at Terry Town campus as a CSL. I was elated for accruing such an opportunity and appreciate monefiore trainers for their professional training skills.In a few months my joy turned into pain when my job was taken away from me by one of my manager V. Nelson.
After months of training we were placed on the floor to now apply what was thought. Most things were new for me,and getting familiar with all required job details were tedious, but none the less i was grateful for having my job, and was determine to learn as fast as i could.
We were assigned a senior floor assistance Mrs.J who was very obnoxious and insulting. I got very nervous whenever she came around, based on how loudly she spoke when asked a question, and i felt embarrassed that other workers were looking. After one week of going home crying and frustrated with my floor assistant, i reach out to my supervisor S. Taylor who was pregnant at the time. I wrote an email telling her about my frustration and that i believe my job was being,"threaten," and i needed her assistance.
Things started getting easier for me on the job and within the next week i started feeling way more comfortable than when i started. I did not hear from my supervisor in regards to my floor assistance behavior, but within a few days i was called by my manager V. Nelson who order me to come to her office after i was done with my last call.
I did as was order by my manager and was told that my supervisor who i wrote for help was out on maternity leaf and had sent her the email so she could assist me. She further told me i used the word ",THREATEN," in my email to Taylor and its against policy and procedures. I was then asked to hand over my badge,and that i wasn't written up, but that department wasn't for me. I then asked if i could get a warning and she said, "NO"!
I was only out of training two weeks and a being a new immigrant a few years here,there were certain words that are used here that are used different in my country. I wasn't aware that i was wrong and would have research usable words so i would not repeat the issue again.
V. Nelson stated that i went to Taylor who was lower in rank for help when she was right there,but fact of the matter is i saw her twice and said good morning and she turned her face in the wall and never response, so there was no way i was feeling comfortable going to her. The first time V. Nelson spoke to me she warned me that the floor assist who was telling me to learn fast or ill get fired cant fired me ,but she can and that's why i reach out to someone who i felt more comfortable with and not her.
I was very hurt that my job was taken away just like that after Montefiore invest so much time and effort in my training. I saw myself going places with the company and was very hurt that it was taken away from me. I tried reaching out to HR for help but was told she could do so due to the fact i was still on probation. Only God knows how taking loosing my job had affected me. I wasn't able to put food on my table for my children, pay my rent, and had no choice than to seek unemployment help.. I believe in being professional and i'm a very hard worker. For my job to be taken away from me because someone didn't like me was selfish and heart rending. I was told by V. Nelson to apply for other position which i have been doing for the past 4 years with no luck . I'm writing this review so if i die tomorrow its off my chest. My God saw my needs, yes he did. A great opportunity was taken away from me for a simple word instead of a correction. Its sad that authority at times are placed in the wrong hands!!
