  I don't like to use absolutes, but I would say of all the delis in Nutley, this might be the best one. Consistent and a good value. While I have had other items (and they were good too), it's hard for me not to get the Chicken Cutlet - the regular, not to be confused with the special, which is sometimes called the Chicken Cutlet. The reulgular chicken cutlet comes with provolone, but I substitute that with mozzarella. The mootz is fresh and perfect. The Chicken Cutlet is always crispy and filling. They finish it with fresh arugula, which is always fresh and, of course, the roasted red peppers. Bread is crispy and yet also soft. Finally, it has a balsamic glaze to bring the sandwich together. I get it every time because it's simply great! Staff is always friendly, and the business has a nice small town feel. They have lots of other quality Italian items there, too, and they look to be all homemade. Price wise, it isn't the cheapest, but it's a spot where you pay for quality, and it always delivers. For me, that is worth it every time! Overall I give Mike's Pasta and Sandwich Shop a 4.7 out of 5, a must try for all things sandwich and Italian.

  Rare 5 star review. The best cold cut sandwich ever! Small store but order ahead for pickup. Great staff. Potato chips & drinks available as is fresh meat & pasta. Ask for the daily specials. On the pricey side but it's food fit for a king! We'll lit & clean. Street parking. No public restroom.

  Listen.
  The food was insane. The bread was perfect and crunchy. The sauces were great. It was just what I needed.
  The staff is hilarious. I'm not sure how long they've worked together. But they clearly are a family in the shop.
  I wish I lived nearby to come more often. But I will DEFINITELY be back.

  Great FRESH food. The chicken cutlets and eggplant are straight up equivalent food versions of crack.
  Prices are fair. Food is great. The food smell outside is a treat too. Yum

  The. tomato. jam. in the eggplant sandwich had the perfect amount of sweetness to really set it apart from any other I've had. It's the little things 🙌 Definitely going back for more of the menu!
