(June 17, 2023, 3:20 pm)Still the wonderful hidden gems that locals adore! Been going there since 1999 and the magic of this calm oasis gets me every time. Perfect for alone time, family fun, romantic dates, fishing, picnics and more! Trails to explore. A playground for the kids. Always a pristine restroom available that is wheelchair accessible. An all around perfect place to practice mindfulness and e joy the gift of life. The bridge has been restored but that just means a new generation of wisdom to be gleaned. Make this a stop if you are in Beacon Falls! The magic gets me every time ! Love it here.

(November 8, 2022, 7:47 pm)Mathies park is a great place to go to walk and relax. There is a nice pond and small play area for the kids. There are multiple walking trails which are great by yourself or with your dog.

(June 1, 2019, 10:17 pm)I’ve been visiting the park most of my life, it’s a hidden gem of Beacon Falls. Fun fishing for kids and a nice place to walk the dog. Unfortunately like so many other parks of this era it’s on a slow decay probably from lack of funds. I miss the days when the upper areas were filled with water. It’s a great place for nature photography and theres a small playground for kids. I have many good memories of this park.

(May 27, 2019, 8:43 pm)There are hiking trails here but today i did no hiking. A very short walk to the lake. A small island there lies a house. Crystal clear water on memorial day 2019. Seen a copperhead snake and good size trout or bass swimmimg. There are pinnick tables and a portopoty there and a child swings. A trail does goes around the lake of which i did years ago. That trail is a nature walk as opposed to a hike. Good size parking lot...i would guess 25 cars or so

(April 22, 2019, 7:49 am)Nice place for family fun. Lake is close to a park for kids. There is a cool abandoned house in the middle of the lake. Nice and secluded.
