  Let me tell you about my FIRST experience with this team. Have a pair of 8v53 Detroits in my 1969 Hatteras. First off - nobody knows these engines anymore. You probably never heard of them yourself (although if you haven’t you’re missing out 😂). I lost port engine and was running out of ideas (and time most importantly) at the height of summer. Daryl before anything else, and at no cost, talks me on the phone several attempts to make sure it was not something simple. Once we determine it’s more than superficial , he stops down to see the boat in person ON HIS WAY to much larger and better paying commercial job. He locates the issue (blower shaft sheared) , uses my own spare parts and gaskets to save cost, and gets the boat running in 3 hours. That’s the best part of this story - but there’s more.
  
  Daryl decides on his own after doing his own research that I am a veteran (prob some stickers on the boat gave it away, not sure) and he wants to thank me for service. I refuse , respectfully, and he won’t take no for an answer. So ultimately we decide on a price that might of paid for his fuel to drive to the job and home plus his time (I’m certain it’s discounted there also he won’t say). Let’s just say this was very very very reasonable.
  
  Priceless, local, honest, and talented Marine diesel mechanic. Find that somewhere on Long Island. I tried it , it was not easy.
  
  Moral of story - Learn from me and call Daryl. Problem soon to be solved.

  I had the most outstanding experience with Daryl at Marine Diesel Pro. Not only was he friendly and approachable right out the gate, but highly efficient and knowledgeable. A true expert in the field. He was even patient and willing to teach me a little more about my Detroits. The quality of his work was top-notch, and I was pleasantly surprised by his affordable rates. After working with a ton of mechanics I could not trust or rely on in the past, I am so thankful that I finally connected with Daryl. I will be using him for ALL of my engine needs moving forward and you would be be crazy not to also. I highly recommend his services without hesitation. Five stars!
