I've been going to this range for years. Rarely is it busy. The only issue is some people don't clean up after they use it.
Great place to go plinking with the family. Only downside is all the trash people leave behind, and when you have idiots not following the rules. However that's when it's our responsibility as responsible firearm owners to speak up against the ones not following the simple rules. Otherwise we could lose our only free shooting range.
It's a beautiful range. It's never too busy and usually the people I run into are good quality folks. I've helped others and others have reciprocated. It seems to stay clean which means those of us who use the range do our parts. I love bringing my daughter and friends and recommend it to anyone.
Always liked this free range. Well, you're supposed to have a current NJ hunting license to use it. Which I always have. All that's asked is you police yourself and pack out what you take in. I'd advise checking out their website for regulations before you go. There's restrictions on caliber and types of firearms allowed. Plus, you have to place targets according to the diagrams.
Just a spectacular place to enjoy the sport of shooting. It's my go to place for sighting in my 22 caliber rifles (rim fire only) and my scoped shotguns. To keep this convenient range open for years to come, please please clean up after yourselves! Bring a big old garbage bag with you and if your feeling up to it after you clean up what you brought with you go ahead and clean up some of the trash left by others. If we all do our part, New Jersey will do their part and keep this range open and free for all to enjoy.
For other WMA information call 609-984-0547. These ranges are maintained by Fish & Wildlife's Bureau of Land Management through license sales revenue and dedicated conservation dollars and revenue from the federal Wildlife Restoration Act generated from the purchase of hunting and target shooting equipment.
