  Lyons has been around for as long as I can remember but I only recently had a reason to go there and I'm so glad that I did. There aren't a lot of family owned businesses around anymore and it's so refreshing to visit one where they obviously care about the quality of their work and the importance a piece of furniture can have to another family.
  
  I brought them a rocking chair that was built in the 1910s by a family friend for my great grandfather, and it was the most pleasant experience start to finish. We talked a bit about the chair and what we were looking for (it doesn't rock smoothly and we wanted to keep it that way), we looked at a few fabric samples, picked one, and they were off.
  
  It was finished exactly when they said it would be and we couldn't possibly be happier with the result. I wish I had a before picture to show the state it was in - it had been sitting in a damp basement for 30 years. What was returned to us was an absolutely beautiful chair that looks brand new but somehow also shows its age, which is exactly what you want for a storied piece of furniture. Cannot recommend Lyons enough.

  I want to give a positive shout out to Lyon’s Upholstery. They have been in Wallingford for as long as I can remember, but I never had an opportunity to patronize them until now. My 5 piece living room set is 10 years old and structurally sound, but the cushions were looking saggy and sorry for themselves.
  
  I shopped around and could not find a new set I wanted. Lyon’s upholstery re stuffed all of the cushions for less than the price of just a sofa. I dropped off all the cushions midday Monday and got a call Friday morning telling me they were ready!
  
  The set looks and feels like brand new again!

  Lyons Upholstery has superb attention to detail in all projects that they undertake. For many years, my family has used their services for upholstering furniture and gifts involving sewing. They even beautifully completed the bustling of my wedding gown which is a service not many businesses provide.

  Lyons Upholstery Shop is a wonderful business! I had two thrifted armchairs with good bones and a design and height I loved, and they were able to transform the armchairs into elegant and comfortable seating! I could not believe how they looked when I saw them finished! Patty is wonderful to work with, and I can not recommend them enough! I attached a before and after picture.
