(December 31, 2022, 1:00 am)A decent place for small and medium sized friendly dogs and to mingle and get great exercise on the grounds. People used the grounds for picnic in the Summer. You can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Some cruise ships dock in the area for one day. There is a Pier, a small beach area to go canoeing in the warm weather. A pizzeria is across the street, No restrooms in the Pier area except at the Pizzeria. Food Bazaar, a large supermarket chain about 5 blocks away has bathrooms.

(October 19, 2022, 10:17 pm)Fun hidden park in RedHook. Lots of industrial decay. A unique view on Lower Manhattan and the Statue. If you are nearby, it's worth a stop in. Public transport stops aren't too close, but there is a Citi bike station just outside the park

(September 25, 2022, 9:13 am)I used to live in Red Hook bout three decades ago, where this park is located. My kids and I would love to hang out at this spot when it was first created. But BOY has it become more beautiful!!
There was a crowd of multi-diverse people thoroughly enjoying the sunny afternoon. Young children and their parents, many teenagers, and older folk like me ( I'm 69 yrs old), lots of playful dogs, and millennials were having lots of fun, smiling, and just enjoying this very pretty park.
I took a panoramic video of this sweet spot to share with my adult kids so they can see how greatly the park has been improved, inviting them to come back here and picnic with me soon.
DEFINITELY worth the trip🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. -

(January 5, 2022, 8:10 am)If the sun were shining I would give it 5 stars. Lovely spot juting out into lower NY Harbor. I would make the effort to visit.
Red Hook will always be a sea town. It area will give you a feeling of an older NY waterfront.
