  We recently lost our Dad, a WW2 Veteran who was taken care of impeccably by the staff at LISV.. I wanted to tell you that we knew he was in the best place at the LI Vets home. Your staff on 2 C treated him with kindness and care that was above and beyond their jobs.
  His nurse Melissa was incredible and being a nurse myself I appreciated all of her decisions and expertise in the daily monitoring of his care. His evening aid Rob was a person that Dad could count on to be listened to and meet his needs. Dave also was a fantastic advocate for Dad. Mack was always so thoughtful…. Maria a CNA in the unit was an amazing asset to him and our family. The evening staff of nursing was incredible with handling the news of his passing to our family.
  Just want you to know how special this facility is because it became home to our Dad as well as other treasured veterans.

  The staff is friendly, courteous, and their interactions with the residents is great. They anticipate the residents needs and will fulfill their needs cheerfully and also any requests by family are done quickly and without a problem. The nurses are caring and knowledgeable. The aides as I stated fulfill their needs. Everyone in the facility treats the residents like family. The facility is so clean, you can't find a piece of paper on the floor. It is well run with many programs for the residents. This should be the model for how a facility is run.

  This is the best nursing home I have ever seen. My father in- law has been there over 2 years on unit 3a. The workers treat him as they would their own family member. They have made this a loving home. Marie takes such special care of her patients, she is one of the best health care workers I have met. Another health aide that goes far and above his duty is Gene. Sherley the nurse manager on 3a is the best, checking on all the patients in her unit with great care. I would advise anyone needing a nursing home for a loved one to choose this one for your family member.

  I do not know where to begin., My 101-year-old father spent the last 9 month of his life at the Veterans Home and I cannot be more thankful for the care and kindness he received on a daily basis. The facility and staff are amazing and are to be commended for the high level of care. My father had been in a facility for rehab briefly before going to the LISVH and arrived at the home with bed sores, unbeknown to me. The staff at LISVH immediately began to treat his wounds and cared for my father as though he was a member of the family. I was always able to reach someone on the unit if I had any concerns. Bernadette and Kathy are just two of the wonderful people on 3D, there were many others too that I never met, but were there for my father and me when we needed them. My father was fully aware of all that was going on and he too appreciated the kindness and care and to be treated with dignity and respect. I cannot say enough and words will never completely describe how grateful I am.

  The team at LISVH did an incredible job with my father! My dad James was at the facility for over 4 years and the level of care the staff provided was just amazing! The team really cared about my Dad and it showed! I would call in from Phoenix on a regular basis and the team always was wonderful to deal with and helped my Dad with the call. Everyone was caring and compassionate. My dealings with Phyllis, Debbie, Donna, Megan, and everyone was superlative to say the least.
  Thank you for making my dad’s final time on earth truly wonderful.
