As a military veteran I have struggled through years of sleep apnea. I tried CPAP but could not tolerate being restricted to sleeping on my back and not being able to move my head without being awakened. The CPAP machine was also a daily and nightly time consuming maintenance project. There is also a whole warm-up routine your supposed to do for 10-15 minutes before laying down to sleep... who has time for this?
I was eventually went to St. Charles hospital Sleep Disorders center and saw Dr. Amin. After a consult he referred me to Dr. Koeppel to learn about the Dental Appliances he provides. This has been a life and health changing event! You simply put the dental appliance into your mouth just before going to bed and go to sleep that's it.... The very 1st night I slept like a baby and woke up the next morning amazingly refreshed as if I hadn't slept in years... After having sleep apnea for so long you forget what it's like to actually get a night's sleep and wake up feeling ready to go... I no longer snore, I am no longer tired throughout the day and I have even decreased my caffeine intake during the day from 6 Bottles of diet soda per day down to one and I don't even finish it anymore. This was an added benefit that I achieved without intention as a result of this dental appliance. The appliance maintenance is easy and quick too. I Highly recommend going to St. Charles hospital Sleep Disorders center to see Dr. Amin and Doctor Koeppel to get a dental appliance if you have sleep apnea. After a follow-up sleep study my sleep apnea has been eliminated with the use of the appliance.
