  Two years ago the services of Jennifer Laviano and her staff began to guide us in obtaining educational opportunities for our grandson. Under our legal guardianship, our grandson was diagnosed with learning disabilities and other factors that made the traditional learning process very difficult.
  Jennifer advised us of our grandson’s rights, and then guided us through the process of helping to fund an alternative educational experience. As a result of Jennifer’s advocacy, our grandson was able to participate in a program addressing his individual needs and acquire the necessary credits to receive his high school diploma.
  We believe we could never have achieved this level of achievement on our own. Jennifer was with us every step of the way. Jennifer displayed a level of empathy that we don’t think she learned in law school.

  I can not say enough positive things about the professionalism, care, and attention we received from Jennifer. She is a direct but compassionate communicator which provided a level of calm to sometimes stressful and long meetings. We were in good hands and were able to come to a swift resolution to the issue we were seeking to resolve. She made a stressful situation more manageable and positive due to her polite but direct communication style.

  No one ever wants to hire a lawyer for their special needs child but I can say we have been so happy with our experience with Melissa. She has such a unique perspective, as a special Ed teacher, administrator, and now lawyer. As a mother, I really felt like she got it and clearly worked to understand my son’s situation and learned about his needs to be able to represent him in mediation effectively. We are very happy with our experience, and while I hope we don’t need to utilize her support again, I’m so confident that Melissa would be able to pick right up where we left off. It has truly been a great experience and I can’t recommend this practice enough!

  I was referred to, by a friend, to work with Melissa Gagne on my special needs daughter case. I met Melissa and felt an instant connection. After working in education herself and having a special needs child she had an understanding of what we wanted and she mapped out how we would get there. We hired her and she never disappointed us. She did her homework, researched, and presented our thoughts, beliefs and values during our case. She was upfront and honest to prepare us on how meetings would go, the process, etc so we were never surprised. She always communicated what was happening, what we needed to do, when we needed to be patient. She truly listened, and that is a rare find. Her representation for our family was top notch. I highly recommend Melissa for legal representation of your special needs child.
