(September 2, 2023, 9:50 pm)Not sure why it took so long to find La Foresta after living in central CT for 10 years but this place is a gem. Classic family run Italian restaurant. Food was outstanding salad was from their onsite garden entrees were perfect. They have the largest wine cellar in CT we got to tour it with the sommelier whose knowledge and passion for wine was inspiring But the wine list was amongst the best I’ve seen. Values galore. The service was on the mark. We felt like we were welcomed into their family for a special evening. Well done!

(August 15, 2023, 12:30 pm)I have been dined here several times but had not had the pleasure since before Covid... not because of Covid, just coincidental timing between visits. On my most recent visit, I was just amazed by the beautiful addition of the outdoor dining deck with permanent ceiling and flexible side curtains and its own bar built out of the main structure. Very impressive and meticulously designed and built. Five plus stars for this creation!
On this visit, we were seated outside and it was a cool enough night that we were all very comfortable. In our group we had a couple of chicken parm orders, an Ahi tuna, a NY Strip, a Filet a salmon entree along with the Shrimp Gumbo soup of day. The soup was just ok. Too much of a tomato base for my liking, no spice and not something I would order again.
The NY Strip and Filet were both cooked very nicely as ordered with the NY Strip offering a much better portion but neither diner felt they were special. My wife and friend thoroughly enjoyed their Ahi and Salmon respectively and the chicken parm was among the best I have ever had. This is not something I would typically order but between my friends recommendation and the corroboration of our waitress, I was confident. It was just terrific and more than I could eat... a rarity for sure!
I much preferred the experience of dining outside especially on a very comfortable evening. While there may be 20 tables outside, they are not crammed together in what must be about 1,500 to 2,000 sq feet. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings and not shy about providing her input. I look forward to returning to LA Foresta. -

(June 23, 2023, 7:47 am)I believe I just found the best seafood, bar none, in CT. Steaks and wine were delicious. Had an amazing night where everything was perfect. Will definitely go back soon.
