  Our son has been practicing Brazilian Jujitsu at the Kioto Academy since he was 3 years old. He has come such a long way and has learned so much within the past 10 years. He has suffered from asthma for most of his life so outdoor sports was not an option. We decided to enroll him in the academy not fully understanding the benefits of this practice. It was the best decision my husband and I ever made for him. Brazilian Jujitsu has not only made our son physically stronger, but it also built his self-confidence and most of all, self-discipline.
  
  Brazilian Jujitsu does not rely on intimidation of size or strenght but patience and skill. This is carefully taught by Professor Milton Regis (Black Belt, 6th degree), his lovely wife Melissa Regis (Black Belt), and other very highly dedicated and seasoned Kioto instructors.
  
  Jujitsu can benefit people from all walks of life, from small children to adults, women and men. It is truly the "gentle way" in the martial arts community, that teaches not only self-defense skills, but also how to approach life challenges. We highly recommend the Kioto Brazilian Academy as it is very much a Family!

  This is by far the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school on Long Island. A traditional school focused on developing technical skill through hard work and discipline (belts are earned not given), but always welcoming and warm. A heartfelt hello and a message of happy birthday are standard fare at the school. Reasonably priced, even the children's classes are taught by 6th degree black belt, Professor Milton Regis, a 2x Masters IBJJF World Champion! Since we started at Kioto we have seen our daughter's BJJ skills improve and her self confidence increase. I would highly recommend Kioto to anyone looking to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

  Most amazing jiu jitsu training with the best teachers in the art! My boys have flourished under their training. They do things I would have never thought they could do. I am so impressed every time I see all the kids fight. My one son, who has some developmental delays, has been growing so amazingly and Professors have been wonderful with him. They truly love and care for the kids. This place is a family. There is no place better than Kioto.

  My husband and both children train at kioto. We joined the Kioto family 3 years ago and we love it there! The training is top notch and they truly care about each of their students. We highly recommend this school!

  Professors Milton and Melissa Regis are as world class as you’re gonna find on Long Island, which is along with Southern California, the capital of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the US. I personally have been training in the Kioto System for many years now and my children have been for 3 years this fall. I can’t begin to express the confidence Kioto has instilled in my children. The camaraderie at Kioto is like nothing I have experienced, from HS sports to fraternal organizations. Kioto is our home away from home and I consider all my training partners family!!
