The Croton Arch of History Unveiled at the Keeper's House

"The Croton Arch of Triumph" is a 2022 sculpture by artist/architect Dionisio Cortes Ortega. Using historically-accurate materials and working to scale, Ortega re-created a cross-section of the original Old Croton Aqueduct Tunnel completed in 1842. New Displays at the Keeper's House | Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct

Have you stopped by the Keeper's House recently? We have two new displays! One is an audio program about the Catskill Water system, with stories from the point of view of its builders and surrounding landowners. The other is an interactive map of the Westchester portion of the Old Croton Aqueduct with pop-up details about points of interest along the trail. Visit us Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm.

The 1905 vintage 1000 pound cast iron gate valve actuator from the upper gatehouse of the New Croton Dam has been donated by the NYC DEP to NYS Parks for use as an exhibit at the Keepers House.
