The fear and reality of ignored complications, negligence, trauma and prejudice of black women during labor and delivery in hospitals is an experience hard to overlook/undergo. That wasn’t an option for me. Our family sought safety, autonomy, understanding and a birthing relationship with a midwife who would see me and my partner and where our rights and voice were respected. Joyful Home Birth provided that! It is undeniable that Carolyn cares about midwifery, women, and the well-being of babies. Every baby I birth will land in Carolyn’s hands! 💕

(May 24, 2023, 8:43 pm)Carolyn is one great midwife, My wife had the best pre and post natal care with her, she responds fast when questions arrive, and is very generous! we also always had our children with us and she has no problem with that, she even lets the kids help and explains everything so well! My wife birth was very relaxed and never had one time that we would be doubting her and never felt we're in the wrong hands or scared. It was a beautiful experience! My wife also love her office, you can see how much effort and love she puts in her work!

Carolyn was a huge support in helping me implement a high protein diet into my lifestyle in order to get my blood pressure down. She always responded to my texts and calls immediately at any hour even weeks before I was due to ease my worries. I highly recommend Joyful Home Birth for anyone looking for an all natural experience with all the support you’ll need.

(February 21, 2023, 11:35 am)My experience with Carolyn was a wonderful one. I never felt like I was just a patient and always felt seen and heard during every prenatal visit. Any time I had a concern Carolyn always took me seriously and always had a suggestion to help. The birth of my baby could not have gone any better than it did and I firmly believe that that is because I received quality prenatal care and had an experienced midwife present. I’m fairly certain that I won’t be having any more babies but if I do, I’ll definitely be hiring Carolyn again.

(August 18, 2022, 4:24 pm)Carolyn is an excellent midwife who takes precautions and gets you prepared for birth. She helped me get my levels up when they were completely down. I was in trouble of not being able to give birth at home because of my anemia. She even bought things for me that she didn’t have to. My husband was able to ask questions and there were many conversations, booklets and pamphlets for him so he could be prepared for the birth of our baby. The birth team was absolutely excellent. They really tended to my needs and were with me all night long. It felt so comfortable , like a family just waiting for baby to come. Carolyn was so funny and an absolute joy. I will miss her being my midwife dearly.
