  Douglas Elliman Fairfield County Leaders, John and Melissa Engel, "The Engle Team" are truly a "Husband-and-Wife Dynamic Duo" in every sense. I have had the pleasure of working with both of them (interchangeably) and their superstar team, while house-hunting for my new family home in New Canaan. It took a whopping 10 months to find the property that met the desired location, budget, and lifestyle. John and Melissa guided through the process with grace, patience, sincerity, ease, and expertise. They introduced charming and historical places, restaurants, parks and events in and around New Canaan that really make just about anyone fall in love with the area. Both Engels are respected pros in the real estate market, with established relationships with other realtors outside of Douglas Elliman (a huge perk when needing to tour a new listing in a pinch), mortgage brokers, surveyors, architects, and loads of other resources that make for as close to a seamless real estate experience as possible. John and Melissa's approach is White Glove all the way, with no pressure, and constant dialogue, and debriefing in order to fine-tune and get to a decision that feels comfortable. After all, the experience is about finding your happy place, and they do not stop until you do. I will also mention that they are delightful as people. So even during the countless disappointing times when we exited yet another house that wasn't "the one," chose to bow out of a bidding war, or weren't the "best and final" accepted offer, John and Melissa continued to infuse hope and diffuse stress with their positive attitude and a lighthearted sense of humor. It was a lengthy and emotional process to uproot from a forever home of 22 years and transplant roots in New Canaan. Certainly, so fortunate and grateful to have had John and Melissa a phone call or text away, to not only help navigate through the process, but to pick up spirits that were low, and to assist with all of the nitty-gritty details of getting to closing date. My relationship with The Engle Team remains strong post-closing date. John and Melissa are the consummate professionals. They are both trusted resources within New Canaan, and through the process became built-in first friends in our new beloved town.

  The Engel Team did a great job finding us a house in New Canaan several years ago and helping us buy it for a great price. When it was time to sell we called on them and they did not disappoint! They priced it right, brought in 3 offers, and we closed this month for a profit. It was a pleasure to work with a team of true experts. They knew the market, understood what the buyers were looking for and guided us throughout the process in a way that made us very comfortable - and provided excellent results!
