  Very nice area for a hike. Loved the cabin. Trails were easy to walk. Will be back to explore the rest of the area.

  Very pretty place to hike, although I found the trail map a little hard to follow. One of the trails was not marked at all & at one point I felt lost in the woods. Now that I'm more familiar with the site, I will feel more comfortable. Fun seeing the log cabin and his son's cottage. Lots of stone steps on the steeper sections made the hike easier & the wood bridges kept your feet out of the mud. We enjoyed our lunch on the rocks overlooking the pond. A more detailed trail map & one that you can take with you would be helpful.

  Better than I expected! The terrain is varied, with some flat carriage trails and some small rock stairs. I loved the falls and all the foundations around the trails.

  Almost every time I stay at Holy Cross I walk, with friends to Slabside and have been inside several times. John Burroughs should be read and honored in our schools as he was a great naturalist. From Holy Cross about 4 mile round trip. You can drive to about 400 yards from the house where you can park off road

  Great walks in the woods. The were no people there at all. Wonderful cliffs, Creeks, ponds etc. Cabin is open rarely but you can look in the windows. Read signs carefully, lots of private property around.
