  My husband spent his last 49 days at Joe Raso hospice. The care was outstanding, the facility was beautiful and immaculate. He got to spend time outside on a pretty patio, in a cozy living room or in a large open kitchen.All of our friends and family were drawn to visit because the environment was so welcoming. I have and will continue to support and recommend Joe Raso hospice to anyone in need of the care offered there.!!

  My husband was a patient at the Joe Raso for 5 days. My daughters and I were able to spend peaceful time with him during those days. He was kept pain-free and comfortable. The staff asked questions about him and tried their best to get to know him during his stay, and my girls and I were able to share stories and recall happy memories (we were taken care of as well.) The visits from the pet therapists proved to be invaluable. The staff were angels because they got us through the worst time in our lives. My husband went peacefully and we then took advantage of the bereavement services offered by United Hospice. I gave this 5-stars and would give it 10 if I could.

  Joe Raso Hospice is the most amazing place that I’m so deeply grateful for. My family lost my brother-in-law followed shortly thereafter by my mother and a year later, my father - all of whom passed peacefully in our arms rather than in a hospital environment. The staff are top-notch and the care of not just the patients, but the families, was unbelievably loving and supportive and, literally made all the difference. I cannot express my gratitude enough to all of them - for helping me turn the most difficult days in my life into a joyful and peaceful sendoff of the people I loved more than anything. They’re simply the best.

  As the anniversary of my mom’s diagnosis of cancer approaches, I look back with a grateful heart for her decision to go the the joe raso hospice house. My family and I entered the hospice house with heavy hearts and sadness, yet somehow, once in the building we felt as if we were enveloped into a cloud of love. The transport from the hospital took a lot out of our mother but within a few days she was out of pain due to meds and we started to enjoy our last days with her. We laughed and prayed and cried with her throughout our 8 weeks there. We have so many memories….We had “thanksgiving in July”, a July 4th bbq, and a sing along outdoors. I told the dr on one of mom’s last days that it finally hit me that our mom wasn’t sent to raso to die, but to live her last days with love and joy. The care she received there was more than we could ever have imagined. She was treated with respect and dignity. In fact, we were all cared for by the staff and volunteers. They cared about all of us. As the end came and mom weakened, the nurses guided us in how to help our mom transition. They were so compassionate. It’s almost 5 years now, and although I still cry for my mom, I also can smile now because the time with her at raso was a true gift. Thank you again nurses, staff, volunteers, chefs and doctors. What a beautiful 8 weeks you helped us to live with our mom. ❤️

  My father had a very limited time left to live when I was able to get him transferred to from the hospital to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence. I will admit that I had concerns because - even though I heard good things about it - they had 3 out of 5 stars, at the time. The finality of it all was very sobering and my grief started before he was gone but the folks at Joe Raso were in immediate contact once he arrived. They took extremely good care of him, and proved themselves to be kind, empathetic, and trustworthy. They would allow up to 8 of us to visit, at a time, and would allow us to stay overnight. For those of us that could not be there, the nurse - and even the social worker - would take a phone into his room and put it to his ear so that we could speak to him. It was one of the most compassionate things I ever experienced. I am so happy that he was able to pass in an environment that was clean, comforting, and reassuring. I highly recommend them.
