  As someone who has a great love for music and has taken lessons from multiple studios, I can wholeheartedly say that Jemini Music has been by far my favorite for many reasons. I began piano lessons with Mr. Ratliff right before the start of my eighth grade year. I was leaving a piano teacher that wasn't giving me musical freedom and would make me feel terrible about each mistake I made. I was shocked to find a completely new environment upon entering Jemini Music. The very first question Mr. Ratliff asked me was: What style of music would YOU like to play? This was so foreign to me as I was so used to being assigned a specific style to play. I would soon be surprised even more as he brought a lightheartedness to music that made it increasingly enjoyable. He taught me that mistakes are not something for us to get hung up on, but should rather be used as inspiration to continue on and make it to the last note. From that point on, I could count on a positive and welcoming environment waiting for me with every lesson. Despite not being in the strict musical atmosphere I was in previously, the joy I found in lessons provided me with the motivation to practice consistently and I was improving at a much quicker rate. The same could be counted on with Mrs. Ratliff and voice lessons. I started lessons with her before the start of my junior year, but the mere two years allowed not only my range to increase, but the quality of my voice to improve drastically as well. Along with that, Mrs. Ratliff's lessons were therapeutic for me, especially during my most difficult years of high school. If I ever came to a lesson after a stressful day, she would not only take the time to hear me out about why I was feeling this way, but she would also provide vocal exercises that helped calm my nerves. I felt comfortable in her studio which made practicing much easier and her work even helped me land prominent roles within my school's musicals. With all of this, if you choose to come take any form of lessons at Jemini Music, you are guaranteed a supportive, inviting, and wonderful music teacher who's passion will inspire you to continue working towards your goals. I am so happy I had the opportunity to be both of their students!

  I took voice lessons with Ruth for a year and I cannot rave enough about my experience. Jim and Ruth are both wonderful people and always make you feel welcome in their home/studio. Ruth is a superb voice teacher for several reasons. First of all she creates a comfortable experience for all her students by encouraging them to let go of any inhibitions and sing openly and freely which I have found is essential for vocal improvement. Also, she is completely committed to unlocking her students' true potential. During my time at Jemini I not only gained confidence in my voice but Ruth helped me develop a more resonant and present tone as well as a more steady breath flow and a wider range, now I'm hitting notes I didn't think I could ever hit! Taking lessons at Jemini you will learn a life skill to treasure and with that comes a sense of confidence, pride in your own accomplishments, and realization of your true potential. If you have ever had a desire to learn how to sing or play piano I cannot encourage it enough. Everyone deserves to do what they love no matter their age, level of ability, etc and Jemini is the place to do that.

  Jemini Music is first class. Ruth and Jim Ratliff are Masters at their Craft. Ruth has been my daughter's vocal coach for 3 years now. Ruth's expertise and understanding of my daughter's potential has brought forth a beautiful, more mature soprano voice. My daughter's vocals are richer, fuller and more vibrant; she is now able to hit those high notes with clarity and purpose! It has been a pleasure to see this transformation.
  
  My daughter started piano lessons with Jim about two years ago. Jim is a patient instructor who works hard to help my daughter correct bad playing habits she learned while trying to teach herself how to play piano. He keeps the lessons interesting and fun. He is encouraging and works to ensure his instructions are understood. We found Jemini Music completely by accident -- and a most happy accident it was! Thank you, Ruth and Jim
