  Janet is a whirlwind of words and scissors to which it's best to give oneself over. I found my way to Janet having last had a haircut over 10 months ago, my short hair grown out to the most awkward of stages after moving north from NYC, and away from the only person I had trusted to cut my very fine hair well. I was holding off until I could make an excursion south, or find someone in the capitol region that I could tell knows what they are doing. As luck would have it, I met someone in my new town that is a client of Janet's and has a FABULOUS haircut. A look at the JAZ website and Janet's extensive training, and I knew I would be in experienced hands. She sat me down, and immediately started talking and moving, educating as she started chopping, telling me what she was doing and why. Her calling my hair "problem hair" stung only a little as she knew what to do with it. It's not the precision cutting I'm used to, but I also ended up with something I have rarely seen in a cut of my hair: structure, and body with an incredible sense of movement. So buckle up and enjoy the ride, you will love your hair at the end!

  JAZ Hair Design as the best vibes, and Janet is amazing! She is so friendly and knowledgeable, and I really appreciate that she shares her process with my while she cuts my hair. My haircut is gorgeous and I can’t wait to come back!

  I am new to the area and Janet did a wonderful job not only on my hair but my 2 kids as well. My son is 3 and she was so patient with him!! I love ny hair cut her years of experience and training was very evident in how she was able to cut my hair, which isn't the easiest being very fine and very thin. It looks fuller and she gave me tips in styling it as well. I will definitely be going back to her in the future!!! You will not be disappointed with your experience!!

  I have never been quite able to pick the right cut or communicate it well enough. Always fantasized about a stylist that could choose the best style for me based on my face shape, my profession and personality. Janet is this dream come true. She listens but has her own ideas and she has given me the best cuts I have ever had. Not boring, not outrageous but fun and flattering. Tried purple highlights today. She did a perfect job. Blended the purple in nicely with my natural hair. Received many compliments tonight at a fundraiser.
  Janet is an artist. Highly recommend.

  JAZ Hair Design is a true find!! A gem, a best kept secret!! I moved here from NYC 2 months ago and thought I'd had to keep going back to keep my hair styled the way I like it ... now I feel like I would even come up here from the City to have Janet handle my hair. She is a pro, a natural - my (long) hair looks silky, healthy, shiny, it will last me a few months I know it. The products she uses are first rate and she truly keeps her price super-fair (can't get that in the City) - I think if she was in the City I could not even afford her - she is THAT good!! The atmosphere in her salon is so unique, it should be in a movie - the whole experience was top notch ... I was floating on clouds out of her salon - highly recommended!!!
