I took my grandson there yesterday to ride the 5 Mile loop. It was very nice, not too crowded, very polite people.
The only thing that happened was we nearly got hit by a limb coming down from a tree. I believe the tree is mostly dead and this limb came crashing down just as we went under it. Thank goodness we were not hit. I could hear it cracking. We got off our bikes and moved it off the macadam. I do see that they maintain this trail very well, I think it's just because we've had so much rain and bad storms recently. Perhaps the next time when they do clean up, they should look up and see if there is dead limbs up there and perhaps they can address those issues.
It's a 5 mile loop connected to a 4 mile out and back (4 one way). It's takes me 30 min to bike the loop, 2 hours to walk it. Fun trails off the east part of the loop and close to Macarther on the out and back. Ruins on the out and back with a quarry. Fire department does a haunted hay ride there during Halloween.
Clean, not crowded, well maintained and perfect for walking and bike rides. Its so long i couldn't cover all the trail by bike before dark
Amazing trail to walk on. Very peaceful and tranquil, love the view and shade. Is paved black top very clean.
Beautiful paved trail. My visit today was on the portion passing under MacArthur Road. To trail head on the east side has a pavilion which can be rented from the township.
About a quarter mile to the west of the pavilion is a junction of two branches of the trail. The branch to the right leads to an unrestored historic combination passenger and baggage car how about 100 yards west of the highway overpass.
