  Loads and loads of history here on this tract of land. Be sure to bring your reading glasses. You will be surprised to learn all the things that have happened here. Small and large dog parks,seasonal bathrooms, playground.This park is clean and meticulously maintained. TIME WELL SPENT

  There is something magical about this place. I've felt that way since I was a kid. Used to bike here after school to ride the trails, explore the woods, throw rocks in the river. Turned 30 this year and went back to visit while I was in town. It's a lot cleaner now, but still holds that same magic.

  Cycled thru the area and spoke with a few friendly people at the park who gave me a background history of the area. Park was peaceful with lots of parking.

  In the spring they do Immersion Days here which makes for a great field trip for younger students! We rode a canal boat pulled by 2 mules, and then there were other hands-on activities for children, giving them a glimpse of canal life! Everyone did a great job keeping it organized and fun! Even aside from that, the park is a lovely place with intriguing history. Highly recommend!

  Nice walk. The tour and museum were closed, but we enjoyed reading the information about the canals and did a great walk along the canal up to the river and canal keepers house. Loved the shade. There is a great playground, picnic grounds, pavilion and sample parking.
