From the multiple different parking areas, hiking trails, beach, and copious amounts of picnic tables with grills, this park is the perfect spot for anyone any age. Not to mention, the people working at the booth before the parking lot were so nice and gave my dog a treat when they saw him in the back seat. We went on the fourth of July and it was completely free. New favorite!

However people are now taking their dogs on the beach which is not permitted and clearly posted.Park ranger sitting in truck did nothing.Another park ranger sat in another truck talking to someone in a car for at least an hour....they get paid by the federal government.

(May 29, 2023, 5:54 pm)Super fun place to go for a walk or just to eat with family. It’s very adventurous especially for the hikes but always stays chill at the same time. Wonderful times of the year to visit is definitely spring, summer, and fall. Fishing is available for those that want to and it’s an excellent spot for photographers.

(July 26, 2022, 6:06 pm)To bad the beach is closed here. Wanted to put my kayak in. They said I could for five minutes . No sense. Stupid bacteria. Most of state parks and other lakes are closed, it a beautiful park . Volley ball, hiking, great place . Beautiful place. It was nice having the park to myself. It was like a ghost town. Think it awesome that they got parking for active and veterans.

The project has prevented $108.4 million in flood damages since it was built (as of September 2011). Hop Brook Lake contains a 21-acre recreation pool that has a maximum depth of 18 feet. The flood storage area of the project, which is normally empty and is only utilized to store floodwaters, is 1.5 miles long and spreads out over 270 acres.
