  We’re so happy with Hickory Vet, and Dr. Will Kay is the absolute best. We started taking Lucy here for neurology after her SM/CM progressed and we wanted to find a better provider for her. We visited 3 different vets and ultimately landed on Dr. Kay because he was the most personable and caring towards Lucy, and because he appeared to be the most knowledgable and specialized in his field. We immediately felt like she was in good hands, and trusted Dr. Kay with her, and we’re so happy that we did. We’ve been with Hickory for well over a year, and Lucy is doing better than ever and we’re so thankful for everything Dr. Kay and the team has done to get her there.

  I am so thankful for the amazing doctors and staff who work here! Today could have been the worst day of our lives when our sweet Shadow was refusing to eat/drink, use the litter box, and was lethargic.
  
  From the time I spoke to them at 8:30 am frantically explaining the situation, I was met with kindness and compassion and was told they could see him.
  
  We arrived and were immediately met with kindness from the staff and vet techs. We were kept informed every step of the way and our concerns were always listened to.
  
  When it came time for the doctors to tell us our sweet boy needed immediate surgery due to an obstruction, I was immediately concerned as our boy has a heart condition and I was worried about the surgery. This amazing team explained the surgery and immediately shared with us that they would use every precaution to monitor his heart to ensure he pulled through. They even gave us all the time we needed to hug and hold our boy before surgery with no judgement as my husband and I shed tears due to nerves. I am happy to report that Shadow is doing well and being monitored as we speak to ensure a full recovery!
  
  I am so grateful to hickory veterinary hospital for loving our boy and ensuring he was cared for and monitored every step of the way! You have our trust and service for life!

  While I was away, my dogs ate an entire box of dark chocolate and my dog sitter had to take them in the middle of the night for emergency care. The staff at Hickory saw them immediately, initiated the proper care and took the necessary steps to help my dogs. They kept me informed throughout the night. My dogs received excellent care and have had a complete recovery.

  Very nice staff, doctors, and facility! They provide 24/7 emergency services for pet care and do it with a pleasant, friendly, and caring attitude. It isn’t cheap but for this level care on a nights/weekend situation it’s reasonable.

  Our visit Thursday evening was everything we needed in a moment of crisis. We called ahead and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Hickory had availability to see us as soon as we arrived at the door.
  
  Dr. Stottler was professional and compassionate to an exemplary degree. We brought our dog in after a missed diagnosis at our primary care vet. She heard our concerns, validated our experience and quickly intervened to diagnose and begin treatment for a mast cell tumor. Her interactions with both us humans and our dog were patient and kind at every turn. The staff at the desk, whose names I regret I did not catch, were particularly gracious and thoughtful and helped us make the best of a late-night stressful visit.
  
  We were promptly scheduled for a consult with Dr. Rosenheck for surgery. Dr Rosenheck was able to accommodate us next day, which was an incredible blessing given the stress of missing the diagnosis in primary care, and the significant discomfort our dog was experiencing. Drop off for surgery was difficult given my intense worry for her outcomes-this was handled gingerly and professionally as well.
  
  Our dog usually does not eat when she is in foreign environments. The report of her eating well during her hospitalization is a testament to the wonderful care I'm confident she received while she was recovering after surgery.
  
  Now that Tessa is back in our laps after the stressful week she's had, we can't thank Dr Stottler, Dr Rosenheck and all the staff at Hickory enough!
