A gorgeous trailhead easy on the legs if one follows the main trail. For a challenge, one can climb to Amy's Lookout, though keep in mind that the steep escarpment is harder for the descent (and as for the panorama, ya see squat as the peak is ringed by trees). A stone wall demarcates the private property line abutting the trailhead. At two points the trail transects rivulets, so be careful when crossing over mossy stones. Parking at the entrance on narrow shoulders along the roadway, with space enough for no more than three cars.
Went with the kiddos on a rainy day. I don't know if the lack of other hikers was due to the rain or because it is normally pretty calm. Trails are nicely kept and marked. Great elevation change for kiddos. There are reference points along the way at 0.66 miles, 1.25 miles and 2.5 miles. Connects with AT, but we didn't get that far.
No loop, there and back. 2 lookout points along the way. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
Not crowded at all (went on a weekday), easy hiking, and a beautiful view within 1.5 miles of parking. A great quick day hike—also good for families with small kiddos.
Really good aingle track mountain bike trails. Not as vast as Pine Hill but fpowy none the less. I wish I had time to do another circuit!
Very nice trail, but they do need more parking on the road. We loved the overlooks and the trail was well marked and maintained.
