Peaceful hike. There's a pond, some benches to sit at along the way, the trails go pretty into the woods but it makes it so it's quiet. Few little streams, and the trails aren't very difficult to walk on. Not many uphill type areas. When I went it was a nice Fall day and hardly any people there. Blue trail is marked very well, however at certain times I had a hard time on the red trail. Got off track a few times but luckily was able to eventually see a red marker. Lots of them are on very thin trees so they aren't as noticeable as they are on the larger trees. Plus with the Fall colors and leave covered trails it made it a little more difficult.
Some muddy spots but not to bad compared to some other hiking trails I've been on recently. Overall, I enjoyed coming here
All CLC properties are dynamic and each very different. Harris is small and tucked back in a sparsely-traveled area of the county, so typically one has it to oneself. It's a deep-woodsy easy walk with bat-cave cliffs, a burbling, almost waterfall-like stream, and a sweet little pond. A few benches scattered throughout at just the right spots for solo contemplations or cozy warm-ups with pod-mate.
Nice park for a walk
Beautiful short hike, not too intense. Benches at beautiful areas. Three trails that intersect for those who want a longer hike. Also not far from the fire tower, so if you want to do both in the morning and another location after lunch, you can easily do it all.
Nice, small waterfalls. Beautiful trails.
The small piles of rocks form crevices and caves that provide great habitat for bats, porcupines, and snakes. WHAT TO DO HERE: Hike - Trails are easy to moderate, Birdwatch, Cross-country ski, Fishing (Permit Required) 105 Bloody Hollow Road, Chatham, NY 12037. Directions Website. 518-392-5252.
