A nice place to get your glasses made. They have helped me to replace lenses in old frames as well as to obtain new frames/glasses. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and do a great job, at a competitive price point. New bifocals were ready in a few days, reading glasses were ready in two days. I recently went back, after trying the optical shop at my ophthalmologist office. Guilford's level of service is head and shoulders above their competition.
Talk about customer service !! John Paul is AWSOME !! I was ready to give up on frames I loved but hurt ,after I went back to the place I purchased them from serval times , He took the time (5 minutes) and made me love them again . I cant thank him enough. I will never go any where but Guilford Optical ,Cant wait for my new sun glasses to come in .
After decades of great vision, followed by a few years of "cheaters," a visit to an ophthalmologist confirmed that I was ready for "real" glasses. Although that news was unwelcome, my visit to the Guilford Optical Shoppe was a very positive experience. Jon spent a good amount of time explaining my prescription to me (something the ophthalmologist's office did not do), and then laying out my various options for glasses. When I was ready to choose some frames (I decided to go with two pairs instead of progressives), Mackenzie was called in to give what felt like a personal shopper experience--in no way pushy, but extremely helpful, making what could have been overwhelming, fun. My selections made, the charges were clearly broken down and articulated, a generous warrantee given, and I left feeling so very glad I shopped local and at this particular establishment. Highly recommended!
Awesome service! A few years ago, I made the mistake of trying a local chain optician. The lenses were clearly not right, and in spite of several attempts to get the situation corrected, they never really did make right on their work. Guilford Optical Shoppe was fast, courteous, offered a great selection of options for progressive lenses, custom-shaped the lenses to fit my frames, and got the new lenses mounted in a jiffy. In the process of measuring me, they discovered that my old lenses had the center of vision too low - which would explain many of the vision difficulties I had with them. The difference in service was day and night - and the price was great, too! I don't like getting new lenses any more often than I have to, but when I do, I know where to go now. Thank you!
